The Hill Schools are a group of schools located north of New York City in the affluent Western suburbs of The Bronx. Round Square is an international network of like-minded schools which subscribe to tenets of the educational philosophy espoused and developed by Kurt Hahn, the founder of Gordonstoun, Schule Schloss Salem and a number of others. In a diversion from the British public school model which focussed on the development of character and the education of gentlemen, Hahn’s schools focussed on developing individualism, confidence and rigour with the capacity to survive and adapt in difficult conditions within a progressive education system.
The Parents League was originally founded in 1913 as a means of formalising discourse and relations between parents and the management of the independent and private schools at which their children were pupils. The league’s purpose is to develop material and resources, particularly to inform parents and prospective parents as to each member school’s policies and admission requirements. Initially the Parents League exclusively focused on the leading private and independent schools of New York City, however its’ success and best-in-class approach has resulted in a much wider membership with many of America’s leading schools now members of the league.
The Mid-Atlantic Prep League (MAPL) is a small sports conference comprised of the top-tier of college-preparatory boarding schools in the mid-Atlantic states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The league’s members compete in a number of inter-varsity sports and adhere to strict criteria regarding student-athlete eligibility, recruitment and programme governance. The member school are amongst the most prestigious schools in North America, if not globally and are extremely competitive academically and athletically, operating highly selective admissions policies.

The New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS) is the premier trade body representing the private school sector in the state of New Jersey. It’s member schools include schools offering elementary, middle and high school level education, some on a single-sex basis and/or a faith-based ethos. Many also offer boarding.
The Private Schools Athletic Association (PSAA) is an interscholastic athletics conference whose members are amongst the leading independent private and prep schools in New York State, centred around New York City. The conference was formally established in 1986 and offers a range of varsity sports. Many PSAA schools are members or associates of the prestigious New York Interschool consortium and also compete in the Athletic Conference of Independent Schools.
The Independent School(s) Athletic League (ISAL) is an athletics conference comprised of several of New York City’s elite college-preparatory schools and has seen a number of successful student-athletes compete under it’s sanctioned sports programs over the years. Member schools are all accredited by NYSAIS and are renowned across the city with many enjoying national and international reputations.

The Six Schools League (SSL) is a high school sports conference comprised of the leading private preparatory schools in the northeast United States, all of which are of national and international fame. The conference formalises existing rivalries between the top-tier boarding schools in the region whilst allowing for the development of common approaches to sports governance and athletic admissions to their schools.
The Athletic Conference of Independent Schools of New York City (ACIS) is a New York City sports league comprised of a number of top-tier college-preparatory schools from the five boroughs and Long Island. The member schools (and associates with respect to whichever programme they’re participating in) agree to adhere to a strict set of criteria regarding financial aid for varsity athletes and scholarship students. The schools subscribe to a league constitution that proscribes inclusivity and collaboration on improving access and enhancing standards in sports competition between themselves.
The Ivy Preparatory School League (as distinct from the separate Ivy League university conference) is an athletic conference consisting of eight private day schools in New York City offering varsity competition in a range of sports for both boys and girls. Many of the participating schools are members or associates of the prestigious New York Interschool network.
