VASSAR

Vassar College is an internationally famous liberal arts college, founded as an educational institute for women before becoming co-educational in 1969. Vassar is one of the so-called Seven Sisters – a group of historically, women’s colleges that were associated with and considered to be the counterparts to the (historically men’s) Ivy League colleges and universities.

Vassar was considered the sister to Yale University with discussions at one point about a potential merger as Radcliffe had done with Harvard, Pembroke with Brown and Douglass with Rutgers.
