OBERLIN GROUP OF COLLEGE LIBRARIES
The Oberlin Group is a consortium of leading liberal arts colleges from across the United States (more explicitly, the libraries of those colleges). The group was formalised in 1984 at an inaugural conference organised by the then President of Oberlin College. Bringing together an invited group of leaders of top-tier private colleges, the group share a common interest in raising the profile of their sector and in developing a programme of modernisation of library administration, information technology, knowledge management, liberal arts research and the publication of college materials and academic material. Due to the highly-selective and exclusive colleges that comprise the group, membership is seen as being reserved to only the best of America’s private liberal arts colleges that are considered to be peers of one another.
