Bancroft School was founded in 1900 by parents seeking to establish a quality all-through day school for pupils in Worcester, Massachusetts’ second biggest city. The school was named after George Bancroft, a Worcester native who had a decorated career in the navy and in US politics rising to serve as the Secretary of the Navy
