Avenues was founded in New York City in 2012 carrying the moniker: “The World School” by a select group of renowned educators and innovators, which included Benno Schmidt, Jr., President of Yale University and Chris Whittle who would later establish his eponymous school (Whittle School & Studios). From the outset, the school would operate as a for-profit institution that would avail of every technology and innovative methodology at its disposal to become educational change-makers.
